Project: Managing PUMA Energy’s growth program in 2015
The challenge: Delivering numerous new sites for PUMA Energy Nationwide
The outcome:
The responsibility of managing PUMA Energy’s growth program in 2015 was entrusted to Switch, leading to an exciting range of projects across the country.
About 80% of the new PUMA facilities were New To Industry projects, involving the planning and construction of new PUMA facilities on greenfield sites. The remainder were New To Company – re-branded and refurbished sites that PUMA takes over from other companies.
Switch Project Manager Nick Stylianou said the program offered a host of challenges – in particular linking the right contractors to each aspect of each project.
“At Switch we work hard to build relationships with the best contractors that we can find, so that we can deliver programs and projects to a really high standard,” Nick said.
“With so many projects, it can be difficult to find the right contractors with the specialist skills required to keep projects moving, so we do a huge amount of planning to keep the program on track."
“Some sites have other clients that we needed to work in with on the build, such as Hungry Jacks and McDonald’s, while other sites needed to be modified to suit the requirements of individual developers."
On Saturday 23 May, 2015, Puma Energy held a community event to celebrate the opening of one of the first newly-constructed travel centres (one of the greenfield sites) in Kempsey, NSW. See video to the right.
