Switch designs new service stations for war-torn oil nation.

Iraq has long been famed as a producer of oil and a cradle of culture but in the recent past has been decimated by war.

It is a bitter irony for everyday Iraqi motorists that a country blessed with huge oil reserves has few convenient service stations from which to buy petrol, but Switch is working with specialist fuel supply company SKA Energy to set up new service stations in southern Iraq.

SKA have developed an international reputation for their success in delivering fuel in challenging environments, and when the chance came to re-develop service stations in Iraq, they called Switch to assist them in bringing a number of old service stations back to life in conjunction with Petro Industrial, a supplier of above-ground fuelling systems.

“Switch have developed the branding, the signage specifications and the fuel system to connect to Petro Industrial’s above-ground tanks,” Switch Director Adrian Brown said.

“Installing above-ground tanks means that service stations can be established faster and at lower cost, enabling SKA to roll out service stations much more efficiently and start to meet the demand for fuel for Iraqi motorists.”

“Our team have worked on projects around the world and we are delighted to be contributing to these new projects in Iraq.”
