Switch has been engaged by Shaw River Buffalo Cheese to complete an energy review of the business. This review in the initial stages will include:

  • Analysis of the current and long term Electrical and Gas Consumption,

  • Mapping of consumption habits including daily, monthly and seasonal fluctuations

  • Review of the current retailer agreements, tariffs, and provide options to reduce cost to business,

  • Provide analysis on options to self-generate energy, and technology utilisation for energy requirements

  • Provide advice on next steps for energy efficiency and optimisation within the business

  • Provide a report of the above, and recommendations for the future.

  • A presentation to management

Leigh Newberry and the Switch team are equipped to provide you with advice on creating the most energy efficient operation you can have. Switch can share with you their knowledge of efficient solutions including the following:

Small scale wind: Fairly self-evident, a small turbine may be an effective option to reduce your dependency on mainstream energy

Bio Mass: Harnessing energy from biological material (such as wood chips), utilising biomass has the benefit of reducing dependence on fossil fuel generated power. This reduces the cost of consumption, but has an added benefit that a well-planned biomass system forms a closed carbon cycle, as the biomass absorbs carbon from the atmosphere during its growth phase and returns it as it is burned. Sustainably done, biomass is harvested as part of a continually replenished crop.

Bio Gas: Very different to Bio Mass, Bio Gas takes organic matter (generally in the form of animal waste), processes it and provides a more effective fertilizer than the raw materials as well as heat and electrical energy for use within the business (or sale back into the energy market).

Solar: The use of solar panels, potentially in conjunction with other energy efficient solutions (such as batteries) can present some innovative opportunities to reduce dependency on mainstream energy supply, particularly in remote areas.

Batteries: One of the greatest problems facing the sustainability movement is the storage of energy. Whilst generally best used as generated, the improving technology connected with batteries may mean that the addition of batteries to your solution is still economical.

Switch Co’s lack of obligation to any particular equipment manufacturer, or solution provider means that the advice we provide is free from obligation and represents the best possible solution for your business.
